Poem for a Friend

She shifts in her chair
unsure and unaware
of what the future holds
or who might hold her.

Because a road diverged into the wood
and she certainly took the one
less travelled.

Her feet tread a steeper path,
but even still
she remains steadfast.
She sets her gaze
on God’s face
and trains her mind
to find
the good, perfect, lovely, and kind.

Her life is a story of resilience
a testimony of God’s goodness—
That even in our weakness
God makes us strong.

A poem written for a friend, 2021. 🌿
Thanks be to God—who fortifies our weaknesses and remembers that we are dust. 🤍
